The Shepherd of Jones Chapel

Pastor Chris Leon Benjamin Edmonds was born in Portsmouth, VA to the late Clifton and Elnora Edmonds He was raised in Chesapeake where he went through the public school of Deep Creek. He is the youngest of seven children.
After graduating high school, he entered the Volunteer armed Forces. Pastor Edmonds served 17 years in the US Army where he retired During his military career he received an associate degree in general arts and worked on a Baccalaureate Degree in Business Management at the University of Maryland. After retiring from the Army, Pastor Edmonds return to college where he received a Baccalaureate of Social Work at Methodist College and a Masters of Social Work at East Carolina University. Pastor Edmonds founded Loving Faith Clinical Counseling Services in Fayetteville, NC where he is owner and psychotherapist.
One of Pastor Edmonds' greatest accomplishments is marrying his wife and love of 30 years, Judith RaChelle Wright Edmonds. He counts as a special blessing his fathering two daughters, LaTina Shareese and Christel Lavelle.
Pastor Edmonds has been pastoring Jones Chapel for 15 years. Some of the milestones of Pastor Edmonds' pastorate include the installation of five new deacons, the burning of a three hundred thousand dollar church mortgage, the purchase of church van, the addition of new musical instruments to the morning worship service, and the purchase and installation of video and overhead equipment. There has also been the purchase of additional property under Pastor Edmonds' leadership. Pastor Edmonds tagged our church motto as "Attempting Great Things for God, Expecting Great Things from God."
While serving as Pastor of Jones Chapel, Pastor Edmonds also serves as Vice President of The Red Springs Ministerial Fellowship. He currently serves as the 1st Vice Moderator of the St. John Missionary Baptist Educational Association.
Pastor Edmonds loves the Lord and people with all of his heart; obeying the command of Jesus found in Mark Chapter 12. Pastor Edmonds declares as his favorite verse of scripture: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)
